Sitting in my studio Sunday afternoon, gazing at this beautiful rack of yarn, I had an idea.
For the open house this weekend, Brooke Sinnes of Sincere Sheep was here with a mighty rack full of yarns — including a whole bunch of gorgeous yarn bases/colors not normally found at Fringe Supply Co. As it turns out, she left the rack here until next weekend, along with the yarns seen in the photo above. And it occurred to me: Wouldn’t it be great if my beloved blog readers could shop from this rack? So from now until midnight Saturday (11:59 PDT, July 6, 2013), that’s what we’re gonna do!
There are four bases here (detailed below) in a whole smattering of colors. Sales of these yarns will be conducted entirely by email, since they are not available in the webshop. If you see something you think you might like, email firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll be your personal shopper. You can ask me how many are available of a given color/type, tell me that you’d like to see, for instance, all of the blue-greens in the Equity or all of the purples in the Shepherdess, or whatever you’re interested in, and I’ll respond with supporting images and details. When you’ve made your selections, I’ll email you an electronic invoice (via PayPal), which you can settle with any major credit card. You may also request that regular items from the shop be added to your special order, and they’ll be invoiced along with the yarn. And for the duration of this event, purchases made in this fashion, containing yarn, and that exceed $75 will ship for free within the US. (International customers, as always, email me for a shipping quote.)
Sound fun? Yes!
Here’s the skinny on the yarns:
Superwash wool with a “dry hand” similar to linen, suitable for socks, etc.
100% Superwash Blue-Faced Leicester
Fingering / 4 oz. / 465 yards
Bouncy Wyoming-raised wool, great for accessories and light sweaters
Sport / 2 oz. / 200 yards
Super soft with slight sheen, used in the Double Basketweave Cowl
15% Tussah Silk, 85% Polwarth Wool
DK (light worsted) / 4 oz. / 320-330 yards
Ultra-versatile worsted with a micron count (softness) equivalent to Merino
100% domestic wool
Worsted / 4 oz. / 250 yards
Note the yardages — it’s a lot of very high-quality yarn for the price. All naturally dyed by Brooke Sinnes of Sincere Sheep in Napa CA.
You can see the relative textures and sizes of the yarns and skeins in the photo at the top of this post. There are more colors available than are pictured in the grid of images, so again, email email@example.com with a note about what you’re interested in and I’ll happily supply you with details and images specific to your request. Happy shopping!
I’ve met Brook here in my neck of the woods! Her yarns are wonderful!
I really should be stocking up here, but I have so many things I need to accomplish in my knitting world. Still! Hmmmmmmm…..

I know, I know, another reblog … and, this one, in the midst of Stash Dash which is probably enough to make you loony. Don’t shoot the messenger, just buy the yarn.
