OK, I know, I know — we’re talking about Ready-to-Wear and not Couture. But for a pompom, a runway at New York Fashion Week is about as haute as it gets. Have you seen the Tory Burch show? It is textile-a-riffic. Pompoms, tassels, fringe, weaving, embroidery, crochet, braiding, beading, more pompoms, more tassels, more fringe. Dizzying, really, but can I have that blue and red overnight bag? And also Tory’s sweater —
We’re moments away from the start of Fashion Week (or weeks, as it were) and the Spring 2013 collections. Being in the mood for sweaters, though, I took a trip back in time and revisited the Fall 2012 shows. There were some great knit hats and skirts at A Détacher and some heartwarming wristwarmers at Paul Smith, but here are my favorite sweater looks of the season.

It needs to be more common (again) to tie a sweater around your neck. It’s one of my favorite things, but I always feel super conspicuous and preppy when I do it.
