Portrait of a yarn March 3, 2012 by Karen Templer This is the Asana Bulky I’m playing with today. Not sure a thick and thin was the right choice for what I’m doing, but time will tell. I’d love to hear what you’re working on this weekend … Share this:TweetEmailMoreShare on Tumblr
Woo the close up of the yarn reminds me of rope. Is it stiff or itchy? The color blend is stunning, then again I love black. Supposedly slimming and all and I can use all the slimming effect I can get.
It’s really soft and lovely. I dramatized it for those images so it winds up looking a bit like steel wool, but it couldn’t be farther from it.
I’m working on a shawl that I’m hoping will make the most of some Araucania Atacama I bought a couple of years ago in a wild, active colourway. Super soft, but really a struggle to fight through all those colours!
I had to google “Araucania Atacama” — that’s a mouthful! I love your description of it, “wild, active.”
I’m making Gevlochten Bal / Braided Balls to add to the knitting for Dusti’s son and her baby girl that’s due in May. Lots of fun.
“Gevlochten Bal”! So much fun to say.
